About Shiatsu

Shiatsu is a complementary/holistic contact therapy that combines Eastern and Western philosophies to create a massage technique to treat common emotional and physical complaints. The name comes from the Japanese words 'shi' and 'atsu' meaning finger pressure and refers to the manipulation of points, similar to Chinese acupressure. Shiatsu also involves deep breathing, joint rotation and controlled stretching.
